Getting ready to workout on your vacation
Working out during your holidays is not always possible and often you just don’t feel like it. I had decided to workout during my trip to Scotland and I had the best of intentions. I wanted to continue Focus T25 Gamma and/or Body Beast. I had everything I needed with me. My clothes, my shoes, my programs, my worksheets, my resistance band and my Shakeology. I was ready! The first struggle was being in a different time zone. I thought it would be to my advantage, but on the contrary, it was against me. There is a five-hour difference between Quebec and Scotland and my body did not follow what I had in mind. Our flight was at 20:00 Tuesday night and we got to London at 07:30 the following day. We did not sleep much in the plane and we had a day ahead of us. I knew I wasn’t going to do much the first 2 days. Our stay in Ballater
Upon arriving in Ballater, I knew I would be staying at the same place for the next seven days and again, I had the best of intentions. Well, the next thing you know, I only hit the gym on day 5! I ran a little over 5K on the treadmill. It felt good! The following morning, I did Gamma with the resistance band. Not a success! When you know that your workout is only 25 minutes and that you lose about 5 of those trying to get set up with the band, this is very annoying. To me anyway. I did not like it at all. I felt very inadequate and I hate that feeling. I just wanted it to be over! Finally, that was the last workout I did during my holidays. On the other hand, while visiting the beautiful castles and gardens of Scotland, we walked a lot everyday. There were times where we had to climb hills and stairs which allowed us to move a little. Nothing very intense, but it was moving nevertheless.
